Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) fees are the per-unit charges Amazon bills when it picks, packs and ships an order from your FBA inventory that was placed on another sales channel, such as your Shopify store, Walmart or eBay. The fee depends on the item’s size tier and shipping weight, the delivery speed and how many units are in the order. During the holiday peak (October 15, 2026, to January 14, 2027) a single small item of 4 oz or less costs $7.53 at standard speed, before Amazon’s 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge.

What MCF fees include
The MCF fulfillment fee covers picking, packing and shipping for orders shipped within the US. Everything else is charged the same way as FBA: storage, labeling, inbound placement and removal fees are identical for MCF and FBA. Amazon charges the fees to your seller account when the order ships.
Key dates for 2026 and 2027
- May 2, 2026: a 3.5% fuel and logistics-related surcharge started applying to US MCF fulfillment fees.
- October 15, 2026, to January 14, 2027: holiday peak fulfillment fees apply. The 3.5% surcharge applies to these fees too.
- January 15, 2027: Amazon’s updated 2027 MCF fees take effect. Amazon publishes them on a separate 2027 fee page in Seller Central.

Additional MCF fees and surcharges
- Lithium batteries: $0.11 per unit on top of the base fulfillment fee.
- Blocking Amazon Logistics: a 5% surcharge on MCF orders when you block Amazon Logistics as the carrier. Amazon has waived it until January 14, 2027.
- Remote areas: orders to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands carry a remote area surcharge of 100% for standard-size items and 200% for large bulky and extra-large items.
- Fuel and logistics: 3.5% on top of fulfillment fees since May 2, 2026.

Amazon’s own surcharge example: a 6 oz e-reader with a lithium battery, shipped at standard speed to Hawaii, costs $7.71 + $0.11 = $7.82 in base fees, plus a 100% remote area surcharge of $7.82, for $15.64 in total. The 3.5% surcharge comes on top.
How to calculate your MCF fee
- Measure the item and find its product size tier.
- Find the unit weight and the dimensional weight, and use the one Amazon applies to get the shipping weight.
- Pick the delivery speed your channel promises: standard (3 business days) or expedited (2 business days).
- Count the units in the order: 2, 3 and 4+ unit orders use lower per-unit rates.
- Add any surcharges: lithium batteries, remote area, Amazon Logistics block, and the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge.

How to keep MCF costs down
- Ship at standard speed unless the channel requires faster delivery. For a single small item, expedited costs $3.36 more during peak ($10.89 vs $7.53).
- Encourage multi-unit orders. A 4+ unit order of small standard items costs $3.83 per unit instead of $7.53 for one.
- Check size tiers. Moving from 2+ to 3 lb down to 1+ to 2 lb saves $1.19 per single-unit standard order.
- Compare channels per SKU. MCF is not always cheapest. For a Walmart order, Walmart Fulfillment Services or Walmart Multichannel Solutions may cost less; for heavy items, a 3PL or your own warehouse may.
